In the UK there is no recognised official body which grants authorisation to legalise or certify translations. In some countries translators are registered as “Sworn Translators” and are recognized by the authorities in their respective countries. However, we do not have “Sworn Translators” in the UK. Law Exchange Ltd provides expert advice and assistance with the legalization and certification of your official documents by UK solicitors and notary publics. We translate documents from and into any language and documents issued both in the UK and overseas.

Translated documents which have been certified by a solicitor or a notary public may also require:
Legalization or apostille at the FCO. An apostille is an official certificate confirming that a signature, seal or stamp attached to a document, is genuine. The process of obtaining an apostille is called legalization.
Legalization at the relevant embassy in the UK.
